Micros System inc. was founded in 1977 by Tom Giannopoulos. The headquarter is in the USA in Columbia, Maryland.
Micros System inc. programs and sells computers, computer hardware and software, it also offers a well used service to help
working with the programs.The most programs are written for gastronomy, especially for hotels and resturants.
Micros Systems inc. is an inconspicuous company which programed the well-known webbrowser Opera. There are 22000 hotels
and 360000 restaurants using this programs worldwide. Micros stock is traded through NASDAQ under the symbol MCRS.
It has stations all over the world. In Germany are 4 cities with Micros-subsidiaries. They are called Micros-Fidelio Germany.
They are in Berlin, Munich, Hamburg and Neuss. Fidelio was founded in 1990 by Dietmar Müller-Elmau.
In 1995 Micros system inc. bought Fidelio and it became Micros-Fidelio. Dietmar Müller-Elmau is today the owner of the castle-hotel in Elmau.
In restaurants in Germany many products are used. For example: the touch-screen Micros 3700 RES, software for calculation and other programs.
