Civil War
The Civil War between the Northern and Southern states was a military conflict from 1861 to 1865. This war was the biggest one in the history of the United States of America.
Causes:
•Political, economic and social differences between the north and the south
•The south was for his independence and for slavery
• The north was for unity between all states and against the slavery
Initial position:
•The south had a better organisation (many military officers)
•The north was confused and their troops were scattered in country
First conflict/ turning point:
•At the beginning the south won some battles
•The turning point was the battle at Gettysburg (51.000 fallen and wounded people)
Results:
•600.000 fallen people
•The war costs were about 8 billion $
•A common constitution
